The Mall at Wellington Green Became an Evening Out in 2026. Here's How the Night Fits Together

October 29, 2026

Palm Beach Improv spent two decades at CityPlace in West Palm Beach. Then in 2023 the Related Cos. decided to build office space where the club stood, and the club had to find a new home. Stet News reported that it settled on the corner of State Road 7 and Forest Hill Boulevard, inside The Mall at Wellington Green, and opened there on September 4.

That move is the clearest sign of a broader change at the mall this year. Several of its biggest 2026 additions are built around the evening: a comedy club, a rock pub with live bands, and an arcade with a full bar. The holiday calendar follows the same pattern, with family events by day and headliners at night, often on the same weekend.

The Evening, Venue by Venue

The new pieces all sit within a short walk of each other. Here is how they line up for a night out.

Venue Where in the mall What it adds Hours to check
Palm Beach Improv Southeast corner, between CMX Cinemas and Macy's National headliners, more than 40 shows announced between its opening and New Year's Eve Show times vary, with late shows on Fridays
Copper Blues Rock Pub & Kitchen Upper level, next to the Improv Pub menu, cocktails, live music, room for up to 275 guests Reported to stay open until 3 a.m. on Fridays and Saturdays
Arcade Time First floor, by the food court Arcade games, pinball, billiards, full restaurant and full-liquor bar Described as open daily until 3 a.m.
CMX Wellington 10 Same corner as the Improv Recliners, reserved seats, Dolby Atmos, restaurant-style menu and bar Varies by showtime

Hours at new venues tend to change in the first few months, so check the Copper Blues and Arcade Time figures before you plan a late night around them. Local coverage published Copper Blues' weekly schedule in mid-October: 4 p.m. to midnight Monday through Wednesday, 4 p.m. to 1 a.m. on Thursday, 4 p.m. to 3 a.m. on Friday, 11 a.m. to 3 a.m. on Saturday and 11 a.m. to midnight on Sunday.

Dinner and a Show Now Share a Wall

The Improv and Copper Blues were planned as a pair. Together they fill 13,800 square feet of mall space that had been empty, and the comedy club takes about 11,000 of that. Copper Blues held its public grand opening on October 16 and 17. It serves as the Improv's official bar and restaurant and also takes diners and music fans who aren't headed to a show.

The menu covers pub standards like Copper Nachos and Steak Frites, plus cocktails named the Strawberry Fields and the Champagne Supernova. Happy hour specials are on offer, and citybiz reported that brunch is planned "in the near future," with no start date yet. The Copper Blues Palm Beach page promises acoustic acts during happy hour and bands on weekends. Its event calendar hadn't listed specific performers yet as of the October opening.

Improv owner and operator Chris Carbo told Stet News that the pub is family-friendly by day and turns into a "nighttime club" after sunset, with live music on the patio. Mall general manager Asad Sadiq described the opening to citybiz as a step in the mall's "continued evolution into a premier destination for dining and entertainment, in addition to specialized retail."

Arcade Time Moved Downstairs and Added a Kitchen

Arcade Time used to be on the second floor. This summer it moved into a 13,000-square-foot space on the first floor by the food court and added a full kitchen and bar. The Town-Crier covered its ribbon cutting on July 8.

Wellington The Magazine listed a menu that includes Power Pellet Sliders, Hawaiian BBQ Chicken served in a pineapple, filet mignon and Antarctic salmon. It also put happy hour at 8 p.m. to 3 a.m., which is late enough to start after an Improv show lets out.

For younger kids, Kids Empire opened on July 4 in Suite 268 with more than 15,000 square feet of indoor play space. That gives the building a daytime option for families alongside the late-night tenants.

The November and December Lineup

The Improv's calendar is full through New Year's Eve. These are the named headliners on its online calendar for the next two months.

  • Michael Winslow, Dec. 20
  • Gianmarco Soresi, Dec. 30 and 31, with New Year's Eve shows at 7 p.m. and 10 p.m.

The calendar also carries an Open Mic Night on Dec. 9 and Have-Nots Comedy showcases on Nov. 25 and 29 and Dec. 23 and 28.

The club's policies are worth reading before you buy tickets. Every guest has a two-drink minimum, and non-alcoholic drinks count toward it. Most shows are 21 and over. Shows Monday through Thursday, late Friday shows and Sunday shows are generally 18 and over unless the ticket page says otherwise. All sales are final, you'll need a photo ID at check-in, and seats are assigned in the order parties arrive, so showing up late can cost you your seat.

Holiday Weekends Now Run Day and Night

The mall's events page shows how the season stacks. Several weekends pair a daytime family event with a headliner at night.

Date Daytime or early evening at the mall Same weekend at the Improv
Nov. 13–14 Giving Tree on Nov. 13; Santa's Arrival and Kid's Club on Nov. 14, 5 to 7 p.m. Chris D'Elia
Nov. 27–30 Black Friday Nov. 27, Small Business Saturday Nov. 28, Pet Photos with Santa Nov. 30 Adam Carolla, Nov. 27–29
Dec. 5–7 Musicthon Dec. 5; Sensory Santa and a Hanukkah Celebration Dec. 6; Pet Photos with Santa Dec. 7 Damon Wayans, Dec. 3–6
Dec. 12 Holiday Gift Workshop, Kid's Club Jeff Allen and Tyler Fischer
Dec. 16 Storytime with Mrs. Claus Joey Bragg

Santa's arrival runs from 5 to 7 p.m. on a Saturday evening, which fits the new pattern. A family can catch that and still have the night ahead, whether that means dinner at Copper Blues, a movie with a bar at CMX, or a round at Arcade Time.

What Happens to the Nordstrom Box Is Still Open

The mall's largest empty space remains undecided. Nordstrom closed in 2019 and its store has mostly held storage and seasonal pop-ups since then. On March 31, Wellington-based Bainbridge Companies applied to demolish it and build 620 apartments in three seven-story buildings with a parking garage, according to the Town-Crier. The project would need a master plan amendment and reviews by Wellington's advisory boards and the Village Council before construction could begin. WFLX reported on July 1 that the plan had not been approved. As of mid-October, no hearing date had been reported.

The proposal and the entertainment tenants respond to the same pressure. The Town-Crier reported that Starwood Capital Group bought most of the property in 2014 for $341.1 million and that the mall is now estimated to be worth about $70 million. Spinoso Real Estate Group, the mall's operator, plans to focus on lifestyle-oriented re-tenanting. Wellington Planning, Zoning & Building Director Tim Stillings put the village staff view this way in the same article: "The future residents are likely future shoppers, restaurant and business patrons for the mall and surrounding businesses."

The traditional anchors are holding up. Stet News, citing WPTV, reported that the Macy's at Wellington Green is the top-performing Macy's in Florida. Macy's, Dillard's, JCPenney and City Furniture are all still on the mall directory. Daytime shopping continues, and the 2026 additions give people reasons to come at night. If the Nordstrom plan moves forward, it would add neighbors within walking distance of both.
